30 Mile Bike Ride (20 Miles for the Short Course) -
The race begins with a 30 mile bike ride. Some of the bike portion is on paved, gravel and dirt roads and trails that range from steep hills to flat ground. The bike course will be clearly marked and a map of the course will be available at the Pre-Race Meeting. There will be designated check points at which point your team will be identified by track representatives. Each member of your team must be accounted for when passing the check point. Water will be available at transition areas for racers to refill their water bottles if necessary. Any team member that is observed discarding ANY item along the bike track will be disqualified from the race and will not be allowed to finish, hence disqualifying your team from being eligible for prizes.

Bike Ride Time Allotment-
Each team must have completed the bike portion of the race by 1:00pm. Any team that does not finish within the allowed time may be transferred to the next discipline of the race, but will forfeit their opportunity to qualify as a contender for any prizes. The Race Committee has the right to change the cutoff times. Race participants should check this website periodically to receive the latest information on the race.

Transition area from Bike ride to Next Discipline-
At the transition area, up to two members of your support team can gather your bikes and direct them to the bike holding section of the transition area. Your support team (no more than two) may hand you any new equipment, change of clothes, water, food, or other items pertinent to allow you to complete the next discipline in accordance with general or specific race guidelines. Any garbage, or other items discarded by your team within the transition area must be quickly picked-up by your support team members.
